Wolthuis, Thomas D. Kalamazoo, MI Thomas D. Wolthuis, age 65, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, April 9, 2015. He was born on February 22, 1950 in Kalamazoo, MI, a son of Henry and Wilma (Hoogstraten) Wolthuis and had been a lifelong area resident. Tom had been employed by DeHaan Remodeling Specialists, Consumers Concrete Corporation and recently retired from Bronson Methodist Hospital. Tom was a faithful member of Centerpoint Church where he served as a deacon, elder and Bible school teacher. He loved to spend time with his granddaughters, was an avid reader and liked to hunt and fish. On November 24, 1972 Tom married the former Mary Triesenberg, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Michael (Michelle) Wolthuis and Stephen (Kathleen) Wolthuis, all of Kalamazoo; three granddaughters, Jordyn, Sydney and Lilly Wolthuis; two brothers, Dick (Mary Anne) Wolthuis of South Carolina and Dave (Nora) Wolthuis of Au Gres, MI; a sister, Martha (Jon) Betke of Kalamazoo; a brother-in-law, Dick (Mary Beth) Triesenberg of Kalamazoo; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held 4-7pm Sunday (today) at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street. A memorial service will be held 1:00 Monday afternoon at Centerpoint Church 2345 North 10th Street with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Porte, officiating. Private inurnment services will be held in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Centerpoint Church or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
