Passed away peacefully Saturday, January 10th with his family nearby. His death was the result of a head injury sustained from a fall on Christmas day. Tom was born in Chicago, IL in 1945 the son of Rudy and Irene Klobucar. He grew up in Dowagiac and graduated from high school there. Tom received his BS from Western Michigan University with a degree in Medical Technology. He worked at various laboratories including Bronson, Borgess and Upjohn. After 27 years he retired from Pfizer as Associate Director of Clinical Operations in 2003. Tom had been working from home as a Contract Clinical Trials Monitor. He served as a Captain in the US Army during the Vietnam era. Tom was an avid fan of NASCAR, a great cook, loved golf, and enjoyed working around the yard and taking care of his family. In 1969 Tom was married to the former Ann Forbear, who survives. He is also survived by daughter Jaime of Schoolcraft and brother Rudy (Loretta) of Dowagiac. Preceding him in death were daughter Jodi, son Joshua, and his parents. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at Schoolcraft United Methodist Church on January 19th at 11:00 AM with a luncheon following. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the Biomedical Sciences Department at WMU or Loaves and Fishes in Kalamazoo.
