Thomas Kidd

Kidd, Thomas S. Climax Passed away Tuesday morning, November 9, 2021. Tom was born October 30, 1951 in Columbus, OH the son of Clarence and Elwin (Ingell) Kidd. Tom has worked the past 10 years as a bus driver for Portage Schools as well as a referee and umpire for many sports throughout the Midwest. He previously coached girl's basketball for several years at Climax-Scotts High School. He also worked as a Jeweler, owning his own store in Richland, Michigan for a number of years. Tom was an avid sports fan and loved watching and cheering on his children and grandchildren playing numerous sports. He was a passionate University of Michigan sports fan, attending many games with his friends and family throughout the years. He also enjoyed coin and card collecting with his sons and grandson. Tom has always been fun loving and was constantly joking around. He especially enjoyed all the kids on his bus route, having bus pizza parties, special treats for them on holidays, and a fist bump greeting every day. Anyone who has ever known Tom will know about his famous, lighthearted greetings, his big smile, and his endless supply of jokes. His kind-hearted, playful personality and love for his family, friends and coworkers will be greatly missed by all. On July 12, 1974 Tom was united in marriage to his loving wife, Mary Jo (Rider) who survives. Also surviving are his sons, Trever (Trisha) Kidd, Shawn Kidd, Trent (Jenn) Kidd; 3 grandchildren, Brayden, Avery, and Joshua Kidd; his sister, Avis (Terry) Rogers; and several nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Laura and Marilyn Kidd. Friends may meet the family from 5:00-8:00pm Sunday, November 14 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 205 E. Maple, Climax, MI 49034. Private services will be held and interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to help with medical expenses.
