Theodore Martin

Theodore A. Martin, 90, of Portage formerly of Paw Paw, passed away March 7, 2020. He was born June 7, 1929 in Chicago. He retired from GM and was a member of St. Michael Lutheran Church in Portage, and also a volunteer of the local Meals on Wheels. Early in life he discovered his ability to oil paint and eventually became an artistic wood carver. Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Sabatino and Paulina Martin, his wife of 62 years, Lois (Gardner) Martin on February 22, 2015. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Russell and Fred, sisters, Rose Hughes and Lenore Bentley. Ted is survived by his daughter, Karen (Bruce) Faul-Sielatycki of Kalamazoo, sister in law, Joyce Martin of Paw Paw, along with many nieces and nephews and his friend and caregiver, Deb, whom devoted her time for his care. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 14, 2020 beginning at 12:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, where a funeral service will commence at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Paul R. Naumann officiating. Private interment will take place at Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorial contributions may be directed to Park Village Pines or to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
