Passed away November 29, 2018. He was born February 27, 1958 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Florence (Casey) and the late Albert Burghardt. Terry attended Saint Monica Elementary and Hackett Catholic Central High School. He graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree in 1981. He was employed at The West Michigan Savings Bank for 27 years, where he was Vice President and Cashier. Terry was a devoted husband and father and was happiest spending time with his family. He was an avid runner, and enjoyed biking and skiing with his daughters, Lauren and Megan. Terry and his wife Dawn were happily married for 28 years. Terry had a strong work ethic and was always happy to help out a friend or neighbor. In 2013, Terry was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease and he bravely battled the disease for five years. Terry is survived by his loving wife, Dawn Burghardt; daughters, Lauren and Megan Burghardt; mother, Florence Burghardt; siblings, John (Elaine), Robert (Rebecca), Patricia (Paul) Moreno, and Thomas (Kati); and several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will take place Thursday, December 6, at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49024 with visitation 1 hour prior to service from 10-11am. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 5, from 4-7pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2944 Fuller Ave NE #101, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan, 222 N.
