Suzanne Harris

SuzAnne L. Harris, age 92, of Portage, passed away on November 30, 2024. Suzanne was born on September 3, 1932 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Gilbert William and Geraldine Julia (Snyder) Sager. Suzanne was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling by motorcycle with her husband, William Harris. Suzanne loved to be in the garden attending to her flowers. She loved her family and her cat, Moon. Suzanne was fiercely independent and was able to do household chores as well as weeding and shoveling snow well into her later years.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Geraldine Sager, her husband, William Harris, two sons, Gilbert and Donald "Paul" Bowler, a daughter, Mary Joe Bowler; two stepsons, Mike Harris and William "Rod" Harris and her sister, Barbara Cappaert and a niece, Carol Taylor. Suzanne is survived by four sons: James (Linda) Bowler, David Bowler, John Bowler and Patrick (Michelle) Bowler; a daughter, Christine (James) Kurtz; step child: Peggy Stehle; a niece, Lynne Cappaert; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial Mass held at St. Joseph Catholic Church at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Joseph Catholic Church.
