Susanna Meints

Susanna went to her heavenly home Tuesday morning, February 22, 2022. Susanna (Walkier) Meints was born November 28, 1928 in Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands. She was the daughter of the late Jacob and Bertha (Van Roosmalen) Walkier. Susanna came to the United States July 22, 1929 on the ship Volandam and settled in Muskegon, later moving to Kalamazoo where she graduated from Central High School in 1947. On August 13, 1948 she was united in marriage to Donald Meints who preceded her in death on January 9, 2002. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra (Wayne) DeYoung, Dianne (Kirt) Taylor; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Edith (Stan) Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:30am Monday, February 28 at Grace Christian Reformed Church, 1724 Whites Rd where she was a member. Friends may meet the family from 9:30-10:30am prior to the service at church. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Grace Christian Reformed Church.
