Spencer, Susan 1/9/1951 - 3/22/2023 Battle Creek Susan Marie Spencer, 72, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Laurels of Bedford. She was born on January 9, 1951, the daughter of Gerald C. Helmer and Irene (Hurlbert) Helmer. Sue retired from Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo after many years of service. She brought many laughs and smiles to those around her and always found a way to brighten each person's day. Sue is survived by her children, Robert (Kelly) Spencer, Beth (Tony Recktenwald) Spencer, David (Susan) Spencer, Scott Spencer and grandson, Brendon Spencer. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Chuck Strickler. At this time cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be planned for a later date.
