MORSEAU, STANLEY MARK On Wednesday, Sept. 8th, 2022, Stanley Mark Morseau passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Stan was born on Nov. 14th, 1945, in Hartford, before moving to Ypsilanti, where he began his career as a roofer and waterproofer. Stanley was a citizen of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, where he served on Tribal Council as well as chairman of the Elders Council. Throughout his lifetime, Stanley devoted himself by advocating for Indigenous rights as well as dancing, drumming, singing, and sharing his voice as a powwow emcee. Stan could also be seen "hanging on the fence", watching and coaching baseball for many years. Stanley married the love of his life, Linda, on April 24th, 1965. They are the proud parents of Nora Mae (Earl), Shannon (Mike), Stan Morseau, Jr. (Kris), and Sam Morseau, who survive as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The Sacred Fire and Visitation will be at Rodgers Lake. Funeral Services will be at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, on Monday, Sept. 12, at noon, followed by burial at Silver Creek Cemetery.
