Sharon Shelton

Shelton, Sharon 8/30/1942 - 2/10/2023 Silver Springs, Florida Sharon Kay Shelton of Florida passed away Friday, February 10, 2023 in Ocala, Florida after an extended illness. Sharon was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on August 30, 1942. She grew up in Vicksburg Michigan and attended Vicksburg High School. After graduating from Western Michigan University, Sharon moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin, where she taught in an alternative education program. She moved back to Michigan in the 1980s, where she worked in alternative education in South Haven, and in administration at Kalamazoo Valley Community College, before ultimately spending the rest of her career at Parker Hannifin. After retiring from Parker, Sharon began spending more and more time in Florida, and she moved there full-time in the early 2000s. Sharon's friends and family will always remember her generous spirit, her sense of adventure, and her devotion to her friends and family. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Renetta "Rene" Shelton. She is survived by her brother Larry (Suzanne) Shelton, and three nephews: Michael Shelton, Thomas (Heidi) Shelton, and Steve Shelton. She also leaves behind many extended family members, as well as dear friends in Florida, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Memorial services will take place in both Florida and Kalamazoo in the coming months.
