Sarah Boran

Boran, Sarah 4/17/1929 - 4/20/2020 Kalamazoo Sarah (Sorca) Boran passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Janesville, Wisconsin April 20, 2020 at age 91 surrounded by family. Sorca was born and raised in Lusk, Co. Dublin, Ireland, the oldest child of Mary (Carey) and Peter Gaffney. She was united in marriage to James (Frank) Boran in 1958 and had been a Kalamazoo resident since 1962. Sorca is survived by her six children - Diarmuid (Amy) Boran, Nuala (Charles) Wilmanski, Maeve Boran (Tom Haupert), Maura Mahr, Colm (Linda) Boran, Canice (Lisa) Boran; nine grandchildren; three sisters - Maeve, Christina, and Rosaleen; and two brothers - Peter and Mac; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 2016, her parents and her brother Conn. Her sister Eileen passed away in February, 2021. A visitation is planned on June 30, 2021 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Redmond Funeral Home on Westnedge Ave. An additional visitation, funeral mass, and afternoon tea are planned at St. Mary Catholic Church on Charlotte Ave. on July 1, 2021, as follows: Visitation from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at Fr. Bart Hall; the funeral mass from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at St. Mary Church; afternoon tea from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Fr. Bart Hall. Redmond Funeral Home, 4100 S. Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI
