Sara Jane (Taylor) Geary

Sara Jane (Taylor) Geary, 51, of Portage, died peacefully on Saturday, May 17, 2008. Sara was born February 28, 1957, to Paul and Mary Ellen (Berry) Taylor. She lived in Kalamazoo all of her 51 years. Sara was a very giving individual, it didn't matter who you were or what you needed, she was always there. She also had the special gift of improving the lives of physically challenged individuals. She enjoyed growing up on the farm and riding the family horses. On April 25, 2004, Sara married Bill Geary, the sparkle of her eyes. They spent many hours walking and caring for their two dogs, Maggie and Molly. Bill survives along with her sons and their companions, Ty (Sarah Homan) Christler and Ryan (Mel Farley) Christler; granddaughters, Taylor, Tara and Kylee; her father, Paul Taylor; a brother, Jeff (Elaine) Taylor; sisters, Michelle (Joe) Ritsema and Robin Taylor; a nephew, Jamieson (Cynita) Taylor and their daughter, Nikita and several close friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen; a sister-in-law, Barb Geary and Bill's parents, Luthera and Myril Geary. A gathering to celebrate Sara's life will be held 11 AM Thursday, May 22, 2008 at the Gull Lake United Methodist Church, Richland with Rev. Stephen M.G. Charnley, officiating. In lieu of plants or flowers, donations made to the family would be appreciated. Sara has been granted her wish of cremation.
