Allen, Sandra K. Eagle Lake Texas Township, Michigan Sandra K. Allen, age 76 of Eagle Lake Texas Township, died on December 21, 2022. She was born on October 5, 1946, in Mexico, Missouri, the daughter of Joe and Eileen (Dean) Kirk. She was a graduate of Warrenton High School and received her bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Missouri. While working at the Medical School at the university, she met a student named William "Bill" Allen. They married on March 28, 1970 and shared 52 years of marriage and many wonderful memories. The couple moved to Lansing while Bill completed his residency and Sandy worked at the Office of Medical Education Research and Development at Michigan State University. The couple moved to Hastings in 1975 and started a family and Sandy cared for their home and children. In 1992 they moved to Portage and Sandy was active in their children's schools. Later in life, she became a real estate agent and worked for Jaqua Realtors from the 1990s to 2013. They were active members at Portage United Church of Christ. In 2000 they moved to their current home. Sandy was preceded in death by her daughter Kristen Allen, Sister-In-law Leah Rogers, Brothers-in-law Clarke Rogers and Dwight Deardeuff, parents Joe and Eileen Kirk, parents-in-law Madge and Bill Allen, and cousin Preston Dean. She is survived by her husband Bill Allen, daughter Andrea Allen, son Kirk Allen, Brother and Sister-in-law Bob and Sue Allen, Sister-in-law Linda Deardeuff, nieces: Amy (John) Clarke, Melissa Allen (Tom Spencer), Allison (Mitch) Strong, nephew Gavin Deardeuff (Tara Peterson), great nephews and great niece: Miles Ballard, Sam Deardeuff, Lincoln Deardeuff and Brinley Clark; cousin Stephen Wheeler and his children Grant and Emma Wheeler; cousin DeeDee Hooper; and cousin Lauren Blackburn.A memorial gathering will be held in summer of 2023. Donations in memory of Sandy may be made to Portage United Church of Christ, West Michigan Cancer Center or Ministry with Community.
