Sandra Ackerman

Ackerman, Sandra 8/4/1938 - 3/21/2022 Kalamazoo Sandra passed away peacefully on March 21, 2022, she took the hand of her husband and went to be with all of the family and friends who have gone before her. Sandy loved and was loved by her four daughters and will be dearly missed. Sandy was born on Aug. 4, 1938 and was placed in the arms of her loving parents Carl and Alice Grimm. On Dec 18, 1955 she married the love of her life and best friend Phillip Ackerman, they were married for 52 years before he passed away on Apr 2, 2007 in Sebring, FL. Sandy played the flute and was a Majorette in the Comstock Marching Band. She graduated from Comstock High School in 1956 and also graduated from Kalamazoo Valley Community College in 1972 earning a degree in nursing and started her career at Bronson Hospital in the NICU for 21 years before retiring and moving to Sebring, FL Sandy was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Alice Grimm, husband Phillip Ackerman, infant son, daughter Pamela Ackerman, granddaughter Wendy Todd, two sisters Patricia Miles and Marcia Cox. She is survived by daughters Toni (Larry) Todd, Dawn (Holly) Ackerman-Reyner, Phyllis (Kevin) Brundage, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and sister Barbara (Howard) Gunther In Lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Centrica Care Navigators (Hospice) Memorial service will be held at a later date
