Sally Kalleward

Kalleward, Sally J. Of Kalamazoo, MI Sally Jean Kalleward, age 85, went home to be with her Lord on September 25, 2020. Sally was born October 2, 1934 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Basil and Constance (Dasher) Hayward. She was a lifelong area resident and was united in marriage to Ronald C. Kalleward on September 28, 1956. Sally was a longtime member of the Sunnyside United Methodist Church. She loved music and had sung for over 50 years in the church choir. Sally enjoyed cross-stitching, knitting, crocheting and bowling. The most important part of her life was her family, especially caring for her children and grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Ronald Kalleward; three children: Kathy Burden, David (Debra) Kalleward, Daniel (Robin) Kalleward; grandchildren: Matthew Burden, Laura Burden, Tyler Kalleward, Hannah Kalleward, Zoe Kalleward, Danielle (Tanner) Knapp, Kylie Kalleward; great-granddaughter: Katherine Jean Knapp; siblings: Judith Zwart, Susan (Jim) Robinson; nieces and nephews. Sally was preceded in death by her parents Basil Hayward and Constance (Hayward) Sanford; sisters Diane Vorenkamp and Christine Hayward; and son-in-law Stuart Burden. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30am on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at First Reformed Church of Portage, 7905 S. Westnedge Ave.; where a service to celebrate Sally's life will begin at 10:30am Thursday. Masks and social distancing required. A private family interment will be held in Ft.
