Russell Kay

Passed away Thursday morning, September 1, 2022 with his wife by his side. Russ was born August 8, 1942 in Kalamazoo the son of Russell and Mabel (Leonard) Kay. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and worked at Georgia Pacific as a supervisor. He later worked with his father-in-law, Ben Martin, driving heavy equipment. Russ enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, hunting and camping with family and friends. His favorite food was donuts. On July 20, 1985 he was united in marriage to his loving wife Sandy (Martin), who survives. Also surviving is his daughter, Andrea Johnson; his sister, Connie Grieser; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Russ was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Nancy; brothers, Donald and Dale; sisters, Marilyn, Sandra; infant sisters, Joyce and Sharon. Cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held from 2:00-4:00pm Saturday, October 1 at the Kalamazoo Missionary Church, 5045 East Michigan, Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
