Russell Curry

Russell D. Curry, age 84, of Portage, MI passed away early Sunday morning, May 21, 2017 at Kairos Dwelling. He was born on March 25, 1933 in Plainwell, MI, the son of Russell and Florence (Knight) Curry. Russell was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict. On April 12, 1957, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Forsman. Russell was employed by Checker Motors in Kalamazoo for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family and attending his grandson's sporting events. Surviving are his wife of 60 years: Marilyn Curry; their son and his wife: James and Carrie Curry; grandson; Andrew Curry; sister: Shirley Buskirk; four brothers: Jerry, Jack (Joyce), Robert (Marva) and Larry (Sharon) Curry and several nieces and nephews. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public viewing or services. Private inurnment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
