Ruby Renfer

Ruby Jane Martin Renfer, 93, of Lawrence, MI, passed away on September 21, 2020. She was born February 19, 1927 in Diehlstadt, MO, daughter of William and Beulah (Martin) Hornback. She was loved by everyone who met her. Ruby graduated from Charleston High School in Missouri. She was valedictorian of her class. During her junior year of high school she began working for Southern Bell Telephone and then General Telephone when her family moved to Paw Paw, MI a few years later. Surviving are her husband, Alfred Renfer III; Children, James Boitnott, Diana (John) Reist, Larry (Sue Ann) Boitnott, Patrick (Vicki) Boitnott, Sandra (Jeffrey) Tartaglia, Rose (Kirk Goodrich) Boitnott; step children, John and Sheila Renfer, 14 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren, 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren; her sister, Patsy Leker, brother, David Hornback. and a host of other loving family and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Son, Stephen Boitnott, Grandson, Matthew Tartaglia, Great-Granddaughter, Sarah Boitnott, and several siblings. Ruby loved to sing, garden, read, knit, crochet, camp with friends and travel when she could. She and her sister loved driving back to Missouri where they were from. She was the oldest and enjoyed caring for her family. She loved her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 2:00PM until time of services begin at 3:00PM. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
