Roxanne Cronk (Smith) passed away unexpectedly in her home on Thursday July 18th, 2024 at age 68. She was born January 14th, 1956 in Detroit, MI to Dean and Jean Smith.

Known to most as Roxy, Roxanne grew up in Beverly Hills, MI and was the oldest of six children. She was a 1974 graduate of Wylie E. Groves High School and a 1978 graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelor's of Science in Art Design. After graduation, Roxy worked in display and as a cosmetologist. In the early 90's she completed teacher certification through Western Michigan and became an art teacher. Later in life Roxy worked in retail and volunteered at the St. Luke's Thrift Shop.

Throughout her entire life, friends and family were incredibly important to Roxy. She made a point of calling her loved ones, sending birthday cards (usually with a lotto ticket), and making a lot out of a little. Roxy loved animals; especially rabbits, cats, and horses. She was a talented visual artist, an amazing cook, a great teacher, a kind friend, and the best, most supportive mom a son could ever ask for.

Roxy cherished time spent in Onekama, MI. Every summer from early childhood onward, she made a point of vacationing in Northern Michigan. Each summer gave her an opportunity to see family and friends on the most beautiful beach Michigan has to offer. Her love of this part of the state has been passed on through her son, family, and friends.

The world was a better place with Roxy in it, but her kindness and love will live on through all who were lucky enough to know her.

Roxy is survived by her son; Jeremy, her sister; Rosemary (Dean) Johnson, her brothers; Dean (Jo) Smith, Lee (Gina) Smith, David (Lisa) Smith, her nieces and nephews; Amber Deedler, Stephanie (Dave) Smith, Michelle (Adam) Klinger, Eric (Missy) Johnson, Domenic Smith, Max Smith, and Alexis Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; Dean and Jean Smith, her sister; Jenny Smith, her niece; Nicole Smith, and cats; Snowshoe, Andy, Sancho, and Rocky.

Cremation has taken place and a life celebration is planned for later this year. Details to follow. If you would like information on the life celebration, please contact Jeremy Cronk at jeremycronk118@gmail.com.
