Griffith, Rosemarie Taormina 2/11/1932 - 10/24/2022 Richland, Michigan Rosemarie Taormina Griffith, born February 11, 1932, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2022, with her beloved husband of almost 66 years Richard by her side. Rosemarie grew up in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Philip and Rose Taormina who were first generation Italian Americans. She attended Pershing High School, and then went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Wayne State University. Rosemarie married Richard E. Griffith, the boy next door, on November 3, 1956, and they enjoyed almost 66 blissful years together. Rosemarie lived a full and active life! In Richland, Richard and Rosemarie were co-owners and operators of The Cabinetry, which specialized in custom-made furniture, and the Commons Village mall, for almost 25 years. She enjoyed the Western Hills Garden Club and was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo where she was a member of the Altar Ministry. She also loved the theater, and regularly volunteered at Miller Auditorium. Rosemarie spent many hours as a volunteer at the Kalamazoo Air Museum as well. After her retirement from the Gull Lake Public Schools, Rosemarie and Richard spent many years traveling, including trips to Egypt, China, Jerusalem, England, Wales and others as well as her beloved Italy. Rosemarie is survived by her loving husband Richard, her Sister Mimi Johnson and Mimi's four children, her son Christopher (Maureen) and their four children, Mary Margaret (Sean) Watts, Emily (Bill) Renwick, Charlotte and Ian, and her son Todd (Lynne) and their three children, Jacob, William and Benjamin. A Funeral Prayer Service will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, October 29th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home, 9170 East D Avenue, Richland, MI, with a luncheon immediately following at the Gull Lake View Golf Resort, 7417 North 38th Street, Augusta, MI.
