Rose Franks

Franks, Rose Eleanor Rose Eleanor Franks, age 84, passed away January 19, 2021 at home with her loving husband by her side. She was born June 21, 1936 in Kalamazoo to the late Charles and Pearl (Mohney) Heacock. Rose graduated from Davenport University with a business degree. She spent most of her career life as an HR Manager at Hydreco in Galesburg. In her later years, Rose enjoyed working in the accounting department at Michigan Power Cleaning. Rose will be remembered for her vivacious and charismatic personality, as well as her beautiful smile. She was always known as "the life of the party." You knew when Rose walked into a room. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, plus her family's loudest cheerleader. Rose loved her time in nature as well, especially gardening and birdwatching. She enjoyed playing cards and camping with her family & friends. Plus, she was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and enjoyed the occasional Lions game. She was preceded in death by her parents; beautiful daughter, Robin Griffith; and many brothers and sisters. Rose is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles "Chuck" Franks of Kalamazoo; daughter, Lisa (Bob) Franks-Woodward of Portage; also John, Judy, and Joy; many grandchildren, including Ricky Ketelaar, Daryn Snow, Todd Griffith, and Seth Woodward; a very special great-grandson, Landan Ketelaar; two brothers, Bruce and Chuck Heacock; son-in-law, Kim Griffith; as well as many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Rose's life will take place at the family's home at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
