Ronald Roach

Mr. Ronald Raymond Roach, age 47, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2008. Previously, Ron was a delivery driver for Hersel Hat Company in St. Louis, MO, where he attempted to organize the union. In Grand Rapids he worked for Goodwill Industries where he once stopped a coworker's fall before being injured. Most recently, Ron was a member of Sheldon House and worked part time in the Sheldon House Library. Ron, always a gentleman, was a politically aware person. He was a reliable and dependable person who cared for his parents. He was very loving and caring of his elderly family including his parents, aunts, and uncles. Ron had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He loved animals and in leisure time he loved and appreciated the 70's Rock Music including Free Bird by Lynard Skynard. He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Patricia (Pat) Powers, Dennis (Kayla Vaughn) Roach, Thomas Roach, Alan (Suki Hood) Roach, all of St. Louis, MO, and Michael (Kathy) Roaleen of Rockford, MI; nieces and nephews, Shawn Powers, Brandon Powers, Damon Vaughn, Brady Vaughn, Scott (Kristi) Bonilla, Cody Bonilla, Cole Bonilla, and Grant Bonilla; plus other extended adopted family and his special care giver, Maureen Spitler. A Memorial Gathering for Ron will be held Friday, January 11, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at LaGrave Christian Reformed Church, 107 LaGrave Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
