Ronald Lindsley

Ronald W. Lindsley, 85, passed away July 12, 2019. He was born May 25, 1934 in Pine Grove Township, Michigan to the late Herbert C. and Wilma (Gilbert) Lindsley. Ron was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was determined and hard-working and expected the same from those around him. He was proud of his family and enjoyed taking trips with them and sharing those memories with others. He was a good friend and neighbor; he was always willing to help people out. Ron loved to tinker in his garage. He was a mechanical wizardthere wasn't a mechanical problem he couldn't figure out. This translated well to his career as an elevator mechanic. He owned and operated Central Elevator Company for 30 years before he retired. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Milo Lindsley. Ron is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bertha (Kovach) Lindsley. He is also survived by his children, Christine O'Dell, Susie (Andy) Schulz, Dominick (Lori) Lindsley, Vickie (Tim) Martin, David (Sharai) Lindsley, Ron Lindsley, Lisa (Eric) Rood, and Tony (Jill) Lindsley; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Lindsley. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 17 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, with a Rosary Service beginning at 7:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 18 at 11:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49024, where friends may visit from 10-11 AM before the service.
