HUNDT, RONALD KEITH Portage, MI Ronald Keith Hundt, beloved father, son, grandfather and resident of Portage, MI, passed away on July 4, 2021 at the age of 67. Ron is survived by his mother, Margaret Hundt (Kupcho); his children, Ryan (Brittany Bragg) Hundt, Lauren (Randy) Cornett; his grandchildren Henry, Jack, and Violet Cornett; his siblings Lori (fiance David Franco) Hanes, Kathy (Mark) O'Neill, and Kenneth Hundt; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Leon Keith Hundt; and his daughter, Kristin Hundt. Ron was born in Lansing, MI on June 12, 1954 to Margaret and Keith Hundt. He graduated from Lansing Catholic Central and then from Michigan State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for the State of Michigan as a Parole/Probation officer where he retired after 39 years. Ron was a devoted father, son, and friend. He enjoyed spending time at HoughtonLake, reading a good book with a cup of coffee in hand, watching his grandkids play baseball, playing cribbage, and traveling to warmer climes. He was an election poll volunteer in his retirement and enjoyed meeting new people. Those who knew Ron, know that he was a Spartan enthusiast and loved to attend football games with his family and friends. The funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Bill Lugger as celebrant. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation is Friday, July 9, 2021 from 5-8 PM at the Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, 520 E. Mt. Hope Ave, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM. Visitation continues Saturday at the church beginning at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American SIDS Institute.
