Obituary
Ronald Frederick Breischaft, age 82, of Portage, Michigan, passed away on May 28, 2026, after several months of struggle with congestive heart failure.
Ron was born on August 7, 1943. He devoted his life to his family, his profession, his faith, and the activities he loved.
He earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania in 1969 before continuing his education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. Throughout his career, Ron was dedicated to helping others through his work as a physical therapist.
On June 5, 1965, Ron married Eleanor "Suze" Breischaft. Together they shared nearly 61 years of marriage.
Ron found great joy in staying active. He was an avid runner and tennis player and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church and West Hills Athletic Club. He also had a special love for dogs, who brought him endless companionship and happiness throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor "Suze" Breischaft; his sons, Kurt (Rhonda) Breischaft and Kyle (Julie) Breischaft; his sister, Dolores (Rev. Art) Bliese; his grandchildren, Reese, Katie, Collin, Keeley (Braden), and Sydney Breischaft and his great grandson Augustus Groves. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A private celebration of Ron's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the family's choosing.
