Roger DeRuyscher

DeRuyscher, Roger D. Hickory Corners Roger Dale DeRuyscher, age 81, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2022 at home in Hickory Corners. Roger was born on February 5, 1940 in Kalamazoo to William and Louise (Chase) DeRuyscher. Roger was a 1959 graduate of Portage Central High School and also attended Western Michigan University. As a child, Roger worked hard and sold celery door to door earning money. Later in life he worked as a machinist, owning and operating RD Industrial for several years. Roger retired from II Stanley Co. as a machinist in 2007. On October 9, 1994, Roger married JoAnne Eichenauer and together they shared 27 wonderful years. Faith was important to Roger, and he was a member of Hickory Corners Bible Church. He and JoAnne wintered in Zephyrhills, Florida for many years. In his free time Roger enjoyed building and repairing things around the house, and spending time with family. Surviving is his wife, JoAnne DeRuyscher; daughter, Amy Henderson; grandchildren: Trenten and Alyssa Henderson; brothers: Don (Brenda) DeRuyscher, Eugene (Sherry) DeRuyscher, LeRoy (Robin) Abbott; several nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at Hickory Corners Bible Church, where a luncheon will be served immediately following the service until 1:00 PM. Pastor Jeff Worden will officiate. Private burial will take place at Mt. Ever Rest Cemetery in Kalamazoo at a later date.
