Robert Woodruff

Robert "Bob" Woodruff, 55, Portage MI. Died Sunday, 4/14/19 at Borgess Hospital. Despite contracting spinal meningitis at 6 weeks of age Bob persevered to become a Portage High School graduate in 1982. He went on to volunteer as a physical education assistant for Portage Middle School. His interest in physical activity drove him to compete in the Special Olympics. Bob's love of the outdoors fueled a desire to become an Eagle Scout. He proudly traveled across America with the Scouts and loved telling stories of his adventures. Bob was an avid art student who had the unique ability to see art in just about everything he found. Bob was a beloved Son, Brother, Uncle and Nephew. His Friends and family will miss his determination, gentle spirit and contagious laugh. He truly touched the hearts of everyone he met. He is preceded in death by his Sister Cindy Walters (2012). He is survived by his Parents Walter and Gail Woodruff, Brother Walter (Nancy) Woodruff and many Nieces and Nephews. A celebration of life is scheduled for May 8th from 4-6pm at Parchment United Methodist Church, 225 Glendale Blvd., Parchment, MI 49004.
