Windon, Robert 2/3/1953 - 11/27/2016 Schoolcraft Robert Windon, age 63, of Schoolcraft, MI went home to be with the Lord after a lengthy illness, on Sunday, November 27, 2016. He was surrounded by his wife and family. Bob was the second son of James Windon and Bernice Beachum. Bob married Debra Taylor on April 29, 1974. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and served in the United States Air Force. He grew up interested in art and history and worked as a designer at Stafford-Smith retiring in 2012. Bob served for many years as a deacon at Texas Corners Bible Church where he was loved and showed kindness to all. His love of history, especially the American Civil War, led him to become a Civil War reenactor with his nephews, Peter and Nathaniel, who were like sons to him. Bob is survived by his wife of 42 years, mother-in-law, Faye Taylor, brothers-in-laws, Frederick and Diane Taylor, Jack and Anne Taylor, Steven and Jennifer Taylor, and sisters-in law Norma Windon and Sara and Alex Kowalski. He is also survived by nephews and nieces: Jim and Susan Windon, Mark and Christyn Johnson, Frederick and Sheri Taylor, Peter and Elizabeth Taylor, Nathaniel and Audree Taylor, Alexander Inkster, Ben Taylor, Dutch and Carolyn Meyer, Jenny Taylor, Ashley Taylor, Scott and Lisa Taylor, Amanda Taylor, and Alexis Taylor. Bob was preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers, David and John, and father-in-law, Bernard Taylor. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Texas Corners Bible Church or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.

A memorial service for Robert Windon will be held at Texas Corners Bible Church, 7780 S. 8th Street, Kalamazoo, MI on Saturday, June 17th at 11am. Luncheon to follow at the church.
