Robert Scott Wagner, of St. Joseph, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, at the age of 76.

Born on February 15, 1950, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Scott was the son of Winton Robert Wagner and Mary (Bongard) Wagner. He is survived by his wife, Cathleen; his sons, Aaron and Justin; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Carol.

Scott graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1968 and earned a degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University in 1972. He married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart Cathleen Ann Cusano, on May 2, 1970. Together, they raised a family and spent 56 wonderful years of love and faith together.

Scott proudly served in an MP unit in the Michigan Army National Guard and later as a musician in the Michigan Army National Guard Band.

Scott's professional career began with one of his life's passions, as a District Scout Executive with the Boy Scouts of America. His career continued as a pharmaceutical sales representative, first with Parke-Davis, and later with Merck & Co.

Community involvement was a constant throughout Scott's life. As a youth, he was passionate about the Boy Scouts, earning the highest rank of Eagle Scout. As a father of two boys, he carried on this passion by founding Cub Scout Pack 287, serving as its first Scoutmaster. Scott was an active member of the United Methodist Church for over 60 years. He particularly enjoyed attending the weekly Saturday men's breakfast and Bible study. Post-retirement, he served with the Rotary Club of St. Joseph-Benton Harbor.

Scott loved the outdoors, especially fly fishing and working in the flower garden with Cathy. He also loved music, performing in the Kalamazoo Concert Band. More than anything, he valued time with family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 13, 2026
