Steffler, Robert M. 3/17/1958 - 3/16/2019 Schoolcraft Robert Michael Steffler (Bob), age 60 of Schoolcraft, MI. Passed away at home with his wife, children and parents by his side on March 16, 2019. 21 hours be for his 61st birthday. Bob was diagnosed in February 2017 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and fought this with courage. Never giving up. Bob was born on March 17, 1958 in Kalamazoo to Robert and Jane (Brady) Steffler. Bob grew up in the Milwood neighborhood graduating from Loy Norrix H.S. in 1977. He went on to graduate from Denver and Automotive College in 1978. From there he began a life long career in the automotive field. He first work at Daliedens Auto body then worked the next 34 years at Morrison Industrial Equipment. Retiring from there on March 1, 2019. There he made many life long friends. In 1983, Bob met the love of his life and best friend, the former Ann C. Loy. They were married on May 9, 1987 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kalamazoo. They resided and raised their family in Schoolcraft. Bob loved the game of golf. For many years he played every Friday from June to October with his dad. He was able to pass the love of golf on to his daughter Katelyn. He was a huge Formula One Race Fan and never missed a race on tv. He was fortunate to see several of these races in person with his son Matthew and his brothers Also, an avid Notre Dame fan. Watching the football and basketball games on tv. He was able to go to several home games in South Bend with his daughter and son in law. Always flying the ND flag on game days. Bob loved taking his family to the Upper part of Michigan for vacations. Going to Mackinac Island and Lake Superior were his favorites. Most of all Bob loved sitting under the Gazebo on his deck reading and listening to music from the 70's and early Beatles. Bob loved going to many concerts to see his favorites perform. Like, Bob Dylan, James Taylor, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones and The Who to name a few. Bob loved his family, friends and life it's self. Bob is survived by his beloved wife Ann, his daughter and son in law, Katelyn and Chase Jones, of Middlebury, IN, his son, Matthew Steffler, of Schoolcraft, his grandchildren who called him Papa, Alexi Ann (4 yrs.) and Mason Micheal (10 months)of Middlebury, IN. His parents Robert and Jane Steffler, Kalamazoo, brothers John and Barb Stefffler Parchment, Mike and Tracy Steffler, Kalamazoo, Dan and Stacy Steffler, Portage and his sister Susan and Ben Peterson of Portage. Many nieces and nephews. His mother in law Madelyn Loy, Schoolcraft. His father in law Millard Loy preceded him in death. On March 30th, 2019 there will be visitation at 10:oo, one hour prior to Services, which will begin at 11:00. This will take place at: St. Catherine of Siena Church 1150 West Centre Portage, Michigan 49024 There will be a luncheon following the service. The family would like to thank Dr. Zhang of Bronson Internal Medicine, Dr. Issa and Sheri of the West Michigan Cancer Center and Matt, Bob's nurse from SW Michigan Hospice.
