Born in Dodge City, Kansas, Robert Joseph Miller passed away peacefully, at home on Friday, September 4, 2020. As a young man, Robert earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He served in the United States Navy, retiring after twenty honorable years of service. Robert was a proud Veteran and served in two wars, Korea and Vietnam. He married the former Norma Grubb on June 6, 1954, most recently celebrating 66 years of marriage. Following his retirement from the U.S. Navy, Robert served as Unit Manager for Borgess Hospital for eleven years and touched the lives of many he served. He also owned and operated Priority Printing in Portage for many years, until he finally retired to enjoy his favorite hobbies which included fishing, boating, and camping at Cousin's Campground in South Haven. Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Norma, children, Toni D. (Steve) Schiedel and Robin G. (David) Bowman, as well five grandchildren and many great grand-children. His sage advice to the world on his 90th birthday was "Pay attention to everything, but don't do everything you pay attention to." In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place and a memorial will be held in June, 2021 at the American Legion in South Haven, Michigan. Memorial contributions in Robert's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice, c/o the funeral home. Friends and family are encouraged to leave a condolence message at www.joldersma-klein.com.
