Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert ("Bob") Lohrmann on April 2 at the age of 78. A devoted father, grandfather, husband, and friend, he lived with kindness, strength, and a deep love for his family.
Born in Detroit on July 15, 1946, Bob was a proud graduate of the University of Michigan and later earned his Juris Doctor from Wayne State University. He practiced law as an attorney, serving his clients with integrity and dedication throughout his career. He also volunteered on the boards of 12 nonprofit organizations, making a lasting impact on countless lives. He embodied the words of Walt Whitman: "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."
Above all, Bob cherished his family. He was married to his beloved wife, Maria, for 53 years, building a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. He especially adored his role as a grandfather and loved to sing to his three granddaughters, creating moments of joy that will be forever cherished. Music, especially classical, jazz and folk was a constant presence wherever Bob went. He also had a deep love for nature, the outdoors, and traveling, always eager to explore new places and experience the world's cultural and natural wonders.
He is survived by his wife Maria, daughter Tara Halt (Ralph), son Todd (Jennifer) and granddaughters Porter, Harper and Sawyer as well as Chris ("number two son") Lawson (Tara), and grandson Graham and granddaughter Lydia.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date to honor his life.
His love and wisdom will remain in our hearts forever. Schlaf gut, Bob.
