Robert Kyle, Age 80, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020. Bob was born in Kalamazoo on December 22, 1939, the son of the late Donald and Alice (Poole) Kyle. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and went on to earn his bachelors of science from Western Michigan University. On September 16, 1960, Bob was united in marriage to Wilma M. Cox. Bob loved to banter and joke with people. He also loved playing and watching all kinds of sports and was skilled at wood burning and carving. Bob enjoyed birding and was a volunteer at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Bob and Wilma also enjoyed lake living in the Delton area, wintering in Lake Placid Florida and traveling throughout the U.S. He was a retiree from the Upjohn/Pharmacia Company. Besides his wife, Wilma, Bob is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Ryan) Huyck; son, Douglas Kyle; grandchildren, Patrick (Nicole) Huyck and Sean (Jillian) Huyck, Allisa Chamberlain, Jackson (Michelle) Kyle and Onna (Jordan) Kyle; great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Harley Huyck, Aubryanna Walker and Jaidyn, Ashlyn, Natalyn and Sean, Jr. Huyck; sister, Jane (Fred) Kastead; nephew, Kyle Kastead; mother in-law, Vonda Cox; sisters in-law, Maxine (Glenn) Dunham and Karen Bresson and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter in-law, Cathy Kyle; father in-law, John Cox, Jr. and brothers in-law, David (Karen) Cox and Rick Bresson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 12:00 PM at Faith United Methodist Church, 503 South Grove St., Delton, MI 49046. A time of visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or a charity of one's choice.
