Robert James Glaser July 16, 1946 to Dec 25, 2021 Born in Ann Arbor, MI to Dr. Daniel Farr Glaser and Marian Frances Bale. He grew up in Michigan and obtained Masters in Economics from the University of Michigan and Aerospace Engineering from the California Institute of Technology. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Natalie Jean Kircher McPherson and Margaret E. Stull. Uncle Bob is survived by nephew Michael D. Kircher and family Donna, Daniel, and Natalie of Arlington, TX and nephew Bruce Do McPherson and family Hanh, Peter, Liam, and Lillie of Annandale, VA. Uncle Bob worked in the aerospace industry for more than 40 years at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). He was humble about his accomplishments, but he would proudly tell you that his name is on the moon on the Apollo 11 lander, on Mars' Viking landers, and in interstellar space on the Voyager spacecrafts. Beyond work, Uncle Bob was a quiet man who loved his family and animals. He particularly loved adopting dogs that had trouble finding homes. He named his dogs "Excuse," as in, an excuse not to travel. He loved spoiling his family, especially with gifts that encouraged problem solving and logic. He was a generous and thoughtful big brother, who always looked out for his sisters. Uncle Bob will be buried in Mattawan, MI this spring alongside his sister, Natalie, and his father. Uncle Bob's legacy extends beyond his technical achievements, and precious memories of him will be cherished by family and friends.
