FLAKES - Robert Flakes Sr., age 50, of Grand Rapids, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 11, 2009 in Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Flakes Sr. Robert is survived by his wife of 24 years, Yvette; son, Robert Flakes Jr.; daughter, Latoya (Jermaine) Jackson; grandchildren, Jakiya, Jayvonne, Diamond, Kylin and special recognition to Markquin and Demere. He is also survived by his mother, Elisky Flakes; three brothers; five sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Robert was a devoted husband and a loving father, and will be missed by many. A Homegoing Service will be held Monday, July 20, 11 a.m. family hour, service at Noon, at Messiah Missionary Baptist Church.
