Robert D. Stuut

Stuut, Robert D. 10/21/1934 - 6/28/2022 Galesburg, MI Robert Duane Stuut died Tuesday, June 28, 2022, in Kalamazoo, MI. He was born at home in Comstock, MI October 21, 1934, a son of John and Freida (VanderWerff) Stuut and had been a lifelong area resident. He entered the US Air Force in 1953, served in Japan for two years and was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class in 1957. Robert served as a Letter Carrier for the USPS for 35 years before retiring. Robert loved to talk. He enjoyed all sports and loved "anything University of Michigan related". Robert enjoyed visiting with his family and reminiscing about past events in their lives. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and all 10 of his siblings. In May of 1987 Robert married the former Mary Bogema who survives. Also surviving are their children, Robert (Suzanne) Stuut, Tracy (Philip) Molloy, Pete (Tracy) Bogema, Penny (Kevin) Stuut, Paul Freed, and Parry (Vicky) Freed; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 11am to 1pm Saturday, July 9, 2022, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S. 9th St, Kalamazoo MI 49009, then services will begin, followed by light refreshments. Private committal services and military honors will be held later in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
