Robert Anthony Wachtor

Robert Anthony Wachtor, 72, of Paw Paw, MI, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 15, 2020. He was born on May 8, 1947 in Blue Island, IL, the son of Edwin and Jennie (Semitis) Wachtor. Bob graduated from Carl Sandburg High School in IL. After school he joined the United States Army in 1966 and served faithfully until 1968. Upon his return home he married the love of his life, Patricia Krakowski in October 1968, recently celebrating 51 years together before she preceded him in death on December 1, 2019. Bob retired from Crown Vantage, the paper mill in Parchment, MI after 29 years in September of 2000. He was a proud veteran and a member of the Eagles, the VFW, and the American Legion. In his free time Bob enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, and snowbirding in FL with Patricia. He loved to watch his granddaughter and spend time with his family. Surviving are his Son, Robert (Annie) Wachtor of Muskegon, MI, Daughter, Suzanne (Richard Brown) Chernugel-Brown, Granddaughter, Madison Chernugel, Brothers, Danny (Kathy) Wachtor, Michael (Wanda) Wachtor, Larry Wachtor, Sister, Rita (Lenny) Kolberg, and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, his parents, and his brother, Tom Wachtor. Friends will be received at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Ave., on Friday, February 21, 2020, from 1:00 pm until time of services at 2:00 pm with Pastor Tim Gunderson officiating.
