Richard Stanard

Richard L Stanard, 81, of Kalamazoo, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Richard was born on February 12, 1939, to Alfred and Ida Stanard at home in Hamilton Township. Professionally, Richard was a meat cutter by trade and worked at Rich's in Lawton, Schnauzers in Schoolcraft and helped out on Newell Farms. He also was a co-owner of the family dairy farm, Peaches and Cream Farms and a farm in Homer Michigan. Richard is survived by his nieces and nephews, Judy Davidson, Ted (Kelly) Stanard, Tina Bortz, Colin (Brenda) Lindel, Jason Lindel, Dannielle Brown, Aime Downing and many great & great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ida Stanard; siblings, George Stanard, Katherine Lindel and nephew, Scott Stanard. A memorial gathering will be held from 1-3 pm on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Newell Chapel, 83313 M-51, Decatur. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.
