Richard Medemar

Richard Allen Medemar, age 84, of Delton passed away January 19, 2026. Richard was born on August 14, 1941 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Son of Lester and Lucille (Dykstra) Medemar. On August 31, 1963 Richard married the love of his life Joane (Bosch) who preceded him in death. They shared 59 wonderful years of marriage.

Richard taught at Harper Creek High School for 28 years. He was a devoted Christian and was a long-time member of Covenant Hope Church. He was quite the handyman, building them two homes on Pleasant Lake. He enjoyed traveling with Joane, his garden which was always pristine, hunting and fishing also was a beekeeper. Richard is survived by his children Denise Olmstead and Daniel Medemar (Amy). Grandchildren Leanesse (Lucas), Kyle (Bree), Alexis, Grace, Fiona and Laela. Great Grandchildren Isaac, Theodore and Zander, his siblings Evelyn (Lance) Bartz, Ronald (Denise) Medemar, Robert (Rita) Medemar, Kathleen (Ron) Commans, Cynthia (Larry) Dame and sister-in-Law Lisa Pence. Richard is preceded in death by a brother, Charles (Mary) Medemar and sister Judith (Medemar) Nyenhuis. Richard's family will receive visitors from 1:00pm to 2:00 pm on Friday, January 30, 2026 with the funeral being held at 2:00 PM at Pleasantview Family Church, 2601 Lacey Rd., Dowling, MI, 49050.
