Richard Hart Jacobs, known to many as Jake, was about a month shy of his 94th birthday when he passed on Friday, June 30th. The beautiful land in Cooper Township on which he built his home over 65 years ago, where him and wife Beula raised their three children, will forever carry his memory forward.
Jake was born to Rachel and Charles in Watervliet, MI. He spent his earlier childhood years in Lake Bluff, IL before moving to Otsego, MI. Just a few years after graduating from Otsego High School, he was married to Beula and then drafted into the US Army. Following his military service, much of his career was spent at Georgia Pacific but his passions were evident in the way he spent his free time. Gardening, woodworking, and carving were just a few of the skills he was known for. From rhubarb to furniture, many have enjoyed the fruits of his labor over the years.
Jake is survived by his sister Nancy Minar, wife Beula Jacobs, children Tim, Sally, and John, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren who loved him dearly.
A celebration of Richard's life will take place on July 22, 2023 from 1-4 pm. All are welcome.
