Richard Figurin

Passed away at Grace Hospice in Battle Creek on Thursday, June 27, 2019, following a brief illness. Age 74. Richard was born on October 13, 1944 in Union County, KY, the son of the late Albert Henry Figurin and Helen Elizabeth (Bean) Skinner. He retired from Heritage Community of Kalamazoo after many years of service. He was married to Mildred "Millie" (Weirick) Baskers-Figurin on July 13, 2001 and she preceded him in death on September 25, 2014. He is survived by his children Darla (Tony) Tarantino, Robert (Becci) Figurin and Richard Austin (Aly) Figurin; grandchildren, Toni Owens, Marc Tarantino, Nathan Figurin, Shelby Figurin, Austin Figurin, and Jordan Figurin; one great-granddaughter, Raegyn Tarantino; four sisters, Gloria Iversen, Mary Figurin, Shelley (John) Fleming, and Robin VerHage; and two step-children, Kodey Baskers and Kaili Baskers; step-grandchildren, Elijah and Malachi; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Richard Skinner. The funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 622 S Burdick St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007, officiated by Rev. James Dyke. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until time of the funeral service.
