Age 86, of Richland passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday morning, March 12, 2020. He was born in Kalamazoo on April 29, 1933, the son of Thomas and Mable (Robinson) Nance, and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army. Dick retired as chief of the meter department at Consumers Energy in 1998 after more than 46 years of service. Dick married his beloved wife, Shirley in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 30, 1971; she survives. He is also survived by his children, Deb (Terry) Shields, Rick (Rana) Nance, Kim (Pat) Ferris, Scott (Joanna) McNees, Brenda McNees, Rick McNees, and Todd McNees; 11 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. Dick was preceded in death by a son, Mick Nance; his parents; and two brothers, Ernie & Don Nance. Dick was very well liked by all who knew him. He was a member of the Hickory Corners American Legion Post #484 and the Utility Workers Union of America. Dick enjoyed golfing and shot a hole-in-one at the Mullenhurst Golf Course on July 9, 1997. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and spending time with his family. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Dick's Life will be held at a later date.
