Kuiper, Rev. Dale H. Of Jenison On September 21, God took to Himself His faithful servant, Rev. Dale H. Kuiper, age 78, of Jenison, MI. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Velerie (Miersma); nine children, and 29 grandchildren, David & Michelle Kuiper (Morgan and fiance Jon Maas, Jordan, Lauren, Addison and Mason) of Zeeland, MI; Brad & Lynn Kuiper (Mackenzie, Lindsey, Taylor, Cassidy and Case of Hudsonville, MI; Chris & Tanya Kuiper of Ponoka, Alberta, Bethany & Calvin Den Hartog (John, Thomas and James) of Lynden, WA, Philip & Laura Kuiper (Braden, Andrew, Jacob and Lanae) of Doon, IA; Victor & Lisa Kuiper (Nick, Ethan, Max and Oliver) of Byron Center, MI, Dwight & Leshia Kuiper (Cameron, Courtney, Nikki and Cody) of Lynden, WA, Lois & Jason Engelsma (Evan, Annica, Ellery and Benjamin) of Walker, MI; and Dana & Alex Vander Schaaf of Grand Rapids, MI. Dale is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Hulda Kuiper, Henry Kuiper, Celia & Gerald Feenstra, Ruth & Peter Noble, Harlow & Judy Kuiper; his mother-in-law Ann Miersma; his in-laws, Rev. Rodney & Sharon Miersma, DaVonna & Gary Holstege, Nona & Will Postma, Alvern & Fran Miersma, Daris & Gene VanBemmel, and Carlyle & Marcia Miersma; many nieces and nephews, and several aunts and uncles. Dale was born on November 22, 1935 to Rev. Henry and Winnie Kuiper in Orange City, Iowa. He graduated from Grand Rapids Christian High School in 1953, from Colorado State University in 1962, and from the Protestant Reformed Seminary in 1967. Dale pastored churches in Randolph, WI; Pella, IA; Skowhegan, ME; Lynden, WA; Isabel, SD; Lacombe, Alberta; and Grand Rapids, MI. He retired to Jenison after 36 years in the ministry, finally passing away at Sheldon Meadows after struggling several years from the aftereffects of a stroke. Visitation will be held at the VanderLaan Funeral Home in Hudsonville on Wednesday, Sept. 24 (6-9), and on Thursday, Sept. 25 (2-4 and 6-9). The private family committal will be on Friday morning Sept. 26, at 11:30 A.M. at the Georgetown Township Cemetery, Professor Herman Hanko officiating. The memorial service will follow at Grandville Protestant Reformed Church on Friday at 2:00 P.M. with the Rev. William Langarak (Southeast PRC) officiating.
