Age 85, of Portage, passed away peacefully and entered his heavenly home on Sunday, July 12, 2026.
Ray was born on March 23, 1941, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to John H. and Jessie (Westerhof) Vlietstra. He graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School with the Class of 1959. Ray went on to enjoy a long career as a truck driver, retiring after many years with Statler Building Supply. He served his country honorably in the United States Army Reserves.
On October 28, 1966, he married the love of his life, Linda Kay Terpstra. Together they shared more than 57 years of marriage before Linda preceded him in death on February 3, 2024.

He faithfully served as a deacon, was an active member of the Singing Crusaders Men's Group for more than 50 years, and volunteered for many years at Second Impressions Thrift Store.
Ray found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He especially loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and cherished every opportunity to be with those he loved. He also enjoyed camping, attending tractor shows, and took great pride in keeping his yard looking immaculate.
