Phyllis Taber

Phyllis Eleanor Taber of Portage, MI Passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the age of 92. Phyllis was born in Kalamazoo on April 24, 1925, the daughter of the late John Carter and Bessie (Bird) Carter. She was an active member of the Vicksburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was married to Elverton Earl "Bud" Taber in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1964. She is survived by her daughter, Terry Taber; two grandchildren, Scott Barbera and Terina Meier; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Barbera; son, Dana Taber; grandson, Anthony Taber; granddaughter, Terisa Whitney; sister, Ruth Marian Zimmerman; and brother, Arthur Major. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice, especially Ginger, Rebecca and Lee Ann, for their kind personal care over the past year. According to her wishes cremation taken place and there will be no public service. Her cremated remains will be interred with her husband in Portage Central Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vicksburg Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses or to a charity of the donor's choice. Langeland Family Funeral Homes
