Phyllis Harvey

Harvey, Phyllis A. 5/19/1936 - 7/11/2022 Gobles Passed away peacefully on July 11, 2022, at home with her family by her side. She was born May 19, 1936 in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of Gordon and Mary (Hippensteel) Sleeman, and lived the majority of her life in the Gobles area. She was a member of the Kendall and Gobles United Methodist Church, and her paint clubs, Friends in Art, and Grapevine Art Club. Phyllis enjoyed painting, ceramics, sewing and most anything to do with art. She worked at the Gobles Public Schools and United Kennel Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and sister. Surviving are 6 children, Timothy (Peggy) Harvey of Gobles, Brenda (Charlie) Missias of Portage, Luther (Pam) Harvey of Orlando, FL, Eric (Mary) Harvey of Paw Paw, Karen Wiggins of Kalamazoo, Kenneth Harvey of Gobles; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren with one on the way; brother, David Sleeman of Scotts; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlan Harvey, May 21, 2021; son, Marlan Harvey Jr., 3 brothers, Vernon, Earl, Floyd Sleeman; and sister, Alice Sleeman. The family will meet friends 4-7 PM Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Gobles Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home. Her memorial service will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 15, 2022 at Kendall United Methodist Church. Her burial of cremains will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 29, 2022 at Earl Cemetery, Pine Grove Township. The family suggests memorials be made to Centrica Hospice or to the Kendall United Methodist Church.
