Phyllis Ann Frey

Phyllis Ann Frey, 86, formerly of Schoolcraft, passed away peacefully from this life into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on November 6, 2023, at Resthaven Maple Woods in Holland, MI after a brief illness. She was laid to rest in Schoolcraft on November 10, 2023.

She was born July 9, 1937, in Schoolcraft to Romeo and Anna (Cooley) Frey. She was the youngest of five children. She attended Schoolcraft Schools and spent most of her life living in the area.

Phyllis had a gentle heart, always wanting to bring cheer and laughter to others. She helped her aging mother for many years after the death of her father and loved to be involved by attending nearly all activities while living at Cedar Park Housing (Schoolcraft) and Resthaven Maple Woods (Holland); she shared her God given spiritual gifts of kindness and joy. She enjoyed baking banana bread and making her special recipe of apple butter (with extra red hot cinnamon candies) to pass out to family at Christmas. She brought smiles to many every Halloween dressing up like a clown and sharing jokes to make others laugh. She knew her eternal home was in Heaven with Jesus and the loved ones who had gone on before. She was a faithful servant of the Lord. Halleluiah, she is home!

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law Esther and Darrell Brush; sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Gary Steeby; brother and sister-in-law Paul and Nancy Frey; sister-in-law Sandra (David) Frey; niece Julie Ann Steeby.
