McCrorey, Phillip 6/5/1940 - 5/8/2021 Moore Haven, FL Phillip Laurence McCrorey 80 years old Moore Haven FL Formally Portage, MI Phillip was the oldest son of William H. and Julia (Adams) McCrorey. Born on June 5, 1940. He graduated from St. Augustine High School. He served in the U.S. Navy from June 4, 1958 until March 21, 1961. He worked for Gibson Guitar for many years until they relocated to Nashville, TN. He then worked for Bowers Manufacturing until he retired. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing, camping, spending time with family and friends. He spent every weekend in the summer doing these things. Then after retirement he spent his time fishing down in Florida. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, 4 nephews , brother- David , sister- Patrecia, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and sister in law- Mary McCrorey. He is survived by his children Deborah Markus-Mann (John) of Portage, Robert McCrorey (fiance- Lisa) of Kalamazoo, Elizabeth (Buffy) Dangel (Roy) of Portage. Grandchildren - Nic, Amber, Samantha, Caitlin, Dylon, Seth, Rick, and Chris. Great grandchildren- Lucas, Matthew, Hannah, and Paisley. Brother- Raymond McCrorey (Margaret) of Portage. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, brother in law, special friends and a former daughter in law (Lisa) that all captured his heart. As per Phil's wishes he has been cremated. He did not want a funeral so his children are planning a Memorial in his honor at a later date. In Lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to Wounded Warrior Project or the Navy Memorial in Washington DC His family was everything to Phil. He showed his love to his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Although he was not able to meet Hannah or his newest great granddaughter Paisley who was born at the end of April, he was planning a trip back to MI so he could meet them. His legacy will live on in all of them.
