Peter VanDyke Jr.

VAN DYKE - Peter Van Dyke, Jr., 87, a veteran of World War II, passed away Tuesday, December 22. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Norkus, brothers, Don, Ken and Fred Van Dyke and sister, Gertrude Latta. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Antoinette; sister, Winifred Cobb; daughter, Mary (Craig) Hunt; son-in-law, James Norkus; grandchildren, Bret and Jill LeValley, Joel (Amy) Norkus, Anthony Norkus, Philip and Jeffery Hunt; great-grandchildren, Gina and Delaney LeValley, Samantha Streeter, Lillian and Jonah Norkus; sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and close friends. He retired from Kelvinator after many years of service, was an avid fisherman and loved working in his garden. Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life on Sunday, December 27, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Hearthstone Assisted Living, 4352 Breton Rd. SE, Kentwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans.
