Rink, Paula E. 12/11/1947 - 7/11/2022 Kalamazoo Paula Hopkins (Mullis) Rink, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 11, 2022, in Portage, Michigan. She was born December 11, 1947, in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Paul "Hoppy" and Clara (Sturtz) Hopkins. Paula grew up in Newark, Ohio and graduated from Newark High School, class of 1965. She was the proud mother of three wonderful daughters, who survive her, Mandy (Mike) Mullis Zwierzchowski, Julie (Derek) Mullis Knight, and Jennifer (Mike) Mullis Lippo. Also surviving are six super grandkids, Roman and Connor Zwierzchowski, Reece and Lindsay Knight, Sabrina and Justin Lippo; siblings, Dr. Patsy (Dr. Gregg) Gehring and Dr. Jim (Jackie) Hopkins. Paula was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jeff Hopkins and Clara Suzanne Hopkins; grandson, Joshua Lippo; and niece, Kate Hopkins. Paula had a passion for music and loved to inspire others of all ages to have a love of music as well. While her kids were still in school, she played piano for the school choir and helped many young musicians with Solo and Ensemble competitions. She was also very involved with Barbershop/Sweet Adelines, directing choruses, coaching quartets and judging competitions. During her time spent in Roseville, Michigan, Paula could be described as a "second mom" to many. In 2016, she moved to the Kalamazoo area to be closer to family. She loved going to various sporting events and activities that her grandkids were involved in. Never one to shy away from helping and serving others, she volunteered on her condominium's homeowner's association board for years and met many friends there. A private Memorial Gathering will take place for family and close friends. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Centrica Care Navigators, in memory of Paula. Arrangements entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services 411 East Centre Ave. Portage, MI 49002. Paula was a smart, strong, confident, curious, and courageous woman who always brought her energy and passion to situations she cared about. To paraphrase Irving Berlin, her song has ended, but her melody will always linger on. She thoroughly enjoyed the long and very interesting life God gave to her and thanks Him profusely for the abundance of blessings He sent her way. She says, "I can't wait to see what comes next! I'm ready- I love you all!" To view her personalized webpage or leave an online condolence, please visit https://www.langelands.com
